ABOUT THE ARTIST

Sandy is an artist based in Fort Lauderdale Florida and Denver Colorado,  who enjoys producing work of a more" custom nature". Unlike many other artist she actually enjoys creating for a specific purpose , client or location. Sandy finds the act of co-creating with a client or an art consultant stimulating and says , "By listening to other people's ideas and needs regarding a specific space, it actually produces instant images that flash through my mind that I may not have otherwise not thought of."

Although Sandy's recent body of work mainly utilizes  fused glass or some type of work using a variety of metals, she is very diverse and can work with almost any material imaginable and welcomes the challenge. She prides herself on the fact that she can morph her style and her materials to work within any space for which she is designing one of her art pieces .

Much of her work can be seen in corporate collections throughout the US , but she also has many private collectors as well for whom she created uniquely personal pieces.

 

THE EQUIPMENT
Sandy uses a large bell kiln measuring a mammoth size of 109" x 36 ".  This size kiln gives Sandy a very large area to work within and has quite an impressive set up of electronics that enable smooth and reliable firing schedules. Along side the large kiln are several other kilns used for smaller sized work.

For hot glass work she uses an acetylene torch and an annealing oven. Other glass equipment includes diamond blade saws, grinders,belt saws and polishing tools and that's just to name a few for the glass work !

Patina Paintings require mixing chemicals with apothecary scales and requires a large torch to active the chemicals.

On the metal work side she uses a 65 ton 10 Ft. metal brake and 12 Ft. sheer as well as a plethora of welding tool including tig and mig welders, plasma cutters , grinders and finishing tools.

We haven't eve touched on the painting supplies, or all of the other media that she creates with !
